Hey guys,

I spent this morning working on some changes I, and would like to see the community's response before I proceed with them. These are not all the changes coming in the new version (far from it), but just what I worked on this morning.
The list of changes visible in the screenshot are:

- New terrain!
 - Player names changed to "Red", "Blue", etc. rather than "Unknown"
 - Territory labels are the same color as the owner. ("Peru (+3)" is Green, "Brazil (+3)" is white because it is not owned.
 - Oh, and you can see me using the clear command (to clear away Debug messages)

Feedback on any or all of the changes is appriciated, whether it be 1-word answers or detailed responses!

It looks clean which is nice, but I don't see the point in having the terrain like that. Should be muddy and grassy and maybe clean terrain in some other areas. It definitely makes it more clear tho what is going on in the war without the other terrain.

My one thought is that Peru is way to flat. I don't mind the space tho I destroy the trees in it anyways.

But for the player name and territory labels... Perfect...Stay awesome

It looks clean which is nice, but I don't see the point in having the terrain like that. Should be muddy and grassy and maybe clean terrain in some other areas. It definitely makes it more clear tho what is going on in the war without the other terrain.

My one thought is that Peru is way to flat. I don't mind the space tho I destroy the trees in it anyways.

Well I was going for a clean and clear look on the terrain, without the clutter of massive mountains and doodads scattered around the countries.
I will probably add in small hills to signify mountain ranges, but they will be many times smaller than in the current RNG version.

The minimap is not new, you are just unobservant!

Might I ask what specifically you don't like about the labels and terrain?

The terrain was just an experiment, I knocked it up in less than 20 minutes. But in principal I personally love it being flatter and less cluttered.

the terrain like you changed seems like a table, and personally i like more current

and about the territory labels color, i think its better like it is now so people who dont know the limits dont get confused about what is part of a bonus and whats not

Tbh I also prefer the current terrain. Seems a bit like SA got a bit bigger? O.o
A bigger SA isn't good imo, since one the the best things about taking SA is that it can be done in about 3 turns. Increasing its size will make it take 4 turns, which will make SA useless.

But again with that terrain... People went nuts when US, Aus, Greenland and China was remade, but it turned out just fine. So maybe a rework of the terrain would be good? Idk...

Edit: In the new version I would love it, if the island bonus was more clear. You got to be told that it's there to know it's there.

It is no bigger, it is just the mountains are so large it appears to be smaller.

I agree with the islands bonus, although I am not sure exactly at the moment how we will make it more clear.

What we were considering was writing in small letters, to the bottom right of every Tent, the continent name of the continent that territory is a part of.

At first i was wanting this change but looking at the map, it would look SO bland if we did that. Not only that, but we coudnlt even semi represent how things look. (For example Antarctica would have grass and dirt instead of being all ice.) I think it would look really boring if we did this.

No, Antarctica would be primarily ice and snow, perhaps entirely.
I do not believe Devo looks bland, I think it looks clean and is fun to play on. You only have to look at a world map (or Risk Domination) to see that RNG is ridiculously unfaithful to the true world map, but rightly so because a to-scale world map would make a very bad Risk game.

I would love flattered land! Its for sure worth a try, if its not liked by the community you can still remove it again. But thats really a nice idea and i like. The Picture of SA you posted looks really good too. I like the idea to let the countries you controll show in your colour. And about names i dont really care if its unknown or named after colors but sure im open for that too. Think that would work well with a flattered terrain.
