Ok, so if you've checked your stats today you've probably noticed that the ranking formula is a lot different. First off there may be things wrong with it and it will likely be changed a bit.
FFA:
The way this new formula works is that it takes into account your skill as well as the quality of the games you are winning. Based on your game performance, you get a skill rating. This rating is based upon your W/L, KD, amount of games you've gotten the best KDA in, and the amount of high ranked games you've won. When a game is played, the accumulative skill points of the players are pooled together. Your payout is determined based on the total skill points of a game and the position you earn.
A combination of your average payouts and your skill level determine your rank. It works in a completely different way compared to the old formula, so trying to compare them is useless.
1v1:
Follows the same concept except the winner's payout is based on the loser's skill. High ranked players won't get a ton of payout for beating a low skilled player, yet a low skilled player can greatly benefit from beating a high skilled player. This way players actually have to prove their skill and can't get a high rank by simply noob stomping.
The changes in skill and payout do not follow the same pattern dictated by the old formula because averages play a large role. This allows for more growth when a player gets better.
Whats the best way to get to the top?As always, win as much as you can. Always strive for the best KD; it plays a huge factor now. Also, play good players. If you are avoiding good players your payouts will be shitty and remember that your average payout plays a huge role in your rank. Don't be discouraged if your points are going down and you are winning games, if you are performing well your points will soon reflect that so play a few more games and you're likely to experience a big point boost.
NOTES:In FFA games, it now pays to stay. Position matters now because it determines your payout, so fight till the end.
Players with a bunch of games played will not see their rank increasing if their skill isn't. (IE no more people will be ranked 18th with 10/1000 games won

.)
Expect global average payouts to count for more as the season progresses because the average skill points per player will increase. Also, since your own skill level influences your payout, it's less advisable to constantly restart your account; if you are good your skill level increases thus your payouts over time are increasingly incremented.
