This is not a strategy!
« on: January 26, 2011, 12:10:56 AM »

After getting teamed for over half an hour with only Americas from 1 guys that had Euro-Asia and another that had And+Afc+Aus, cause the 2nd guy said he would give the win(btw i was on my alt acc so it wasnt name checking) , i got to say this:

with Im sure u have faced a same situation, where some1 says "im not interested in winning, ill give u the win" or "i gtg rly soon, so ill give u the win" and then they backstab and win.

Imo this way of playing isnt a strategy its just a real lifes lie that ppl use in a game and its pathetic. Strategy is using the facts u have from each and every game and act accordingly. Thats all..

p.s. if u believe this shit when some1 says so, quit playing risk(unles he suicides=mass expnsive units against ur enemies and leaves)

A lot of players actually use this strategy.

Remember the game we had with Eatshit ? 'Omg yun, lemme take Africa I'm leaving anyway'.

There's not much you can do if someone trust them. And if they do leave, there's even less you can do.

There's no diplomatical solution, only skills can make you win by beating them all. If you cant in a matter of income, just try to forget it, or else you will be mad every single time it will happens.

I often leave games because I have to do stuff in real life. Since a few months I just don't have dedicated game hours so I join a game whenever I can.

I think he was, and I'm sure I was speaking about players that are trying to make others think they are gonna leave whereas they are not. So no offense towards you at all neechi.

That's exactly how I lost last game, it sucks... but what can you do?

Is lame, pathetic if you want... but is a valid diplomatic action. I have never done it, that's where I draw the line, but many people use it.

I hate you...

I knew pink was skilled, thats why I never though he (you) would be so stupid to do it. OJ had that game, you lucky bastard... why people disconnects from my games when I'm about to lose?

Now I'm glad you same thing happened to you! Karma is a bitch!! :P

That's exactly why your attack was a bad tactical move... it was clear I would turn against you. You should know better by now, betrayed players will go all out on you, skilled or not.
And while I knew I could not personally kill you because I was very weak atm you attacked me, I knew I could make you lose the game unless Orange was a retard... and he was close to it, but not enough, thats why you were losing.

Having said that, I'll admit I also misplayed, I should had stop defending Australia (takes to much to defend from china), and fall back in artica to make a better defense stand. But I was so surprised by your bad move I badly misplayed.

i was smaller than  u if i atacked oj, u would kill me as it was easier for u to expand in his lands , in addition to that i took ur artica pretty cheap i had only to spent 200 g and saven the same amount in the mean time :S.

I have given up on a certain level of ethics/honor, you have to realize that it is a game of diplomatic mind tricks on more fronts than 1, that is one of the most basic and when your dealing with un-predictable enemies, you need to assume the worst. There was a point when I would not use this tactic as a matter of pride in my integrity, but it's miss placed pride, since the point is to win and aside from out right cheating, different tactics are needed to achieve victory in different situations. Many times neither believe X will hand the game away, but agrees with the belief he will win a 1v1 after the fact. The dumb ones miss-calculate and lose. Most the time, I let them do their damage and save as much gold as I can run away with until their war breaks out and I re-enter the fight, sometimes I get chased down until I am killed while neither of them fight, do I blame them for their unethical tactics? Luck for giving me this shitty situation? or myself for not seeing it and allowing it to happen? Answer is, all and none of those :)

Hahaha deimos. Remember I played with you one game, and you were forced to be a struggling pirate all game? I won that one.

The next game with newrelic, in the lobby i was like holy s*** I am gonna get pummeled this round cuz of karma. You watch. karma reared her ugly side and I was forced to be the struggling pirate all game. I lost, you won, but I had an amazing k/d. haha.
